...an informative series regarding the common birds of the British Isles, accompanied with photographs.
Good evening, fellow users of the internet. This is the first of several Blot articles I'll be writing, each one pertaining to a specific bird of Britain and usually including a pair of moderately sized pictures.
Naturally, I thought I'd begin with tits, as they popular with both men and women of all ages.
The blue tit is a well-known garden bird that is quite common. It can be found in gardens, wild hedges, bushes and woodland and are present in the UK for the entire year.

The first photograph shows it next to a feeder, giving some idea of its size which is quite small (equal to or perhaps slightly lesser than a sparrow and significantly smaller than a piegon, blackbird or magpie).
Blue tits are colourful chaps sporting, unsurprisingly, blue but also bright yellow bodies and white and black heads. Their wings also have blue and white.
In the UK they are quite easy to attract simply by putting out a feeder, and they happily occupy birdhouses. They eat seeds and nuts, in addition to caterpillars and insects.
That's all for this time. Happy birdwatching:)
