Have you ever wondered why there are distinct sections on 4K's main menu? There are obvious links to the chat boards and to the stores. But there is also the link to the Poetry section. In the previous version there was a lot of participation in the poetry section. Many people would find the community from searches of poetry from our members. Four wanted to expand on this in 4th Kingdom by offering a section for the poets. And in December of 2004, he announced his plans to create a poetry section that will link to an outside page where editors will choose poems to be placed on it. At the time he also announced needing two editors who had a command of the English language and be able to spot and correct spelling and grammar mistakes. They would be in charge of selecting poems for inclusion into poetry categories, giving feedback to poets who have poems that need to be improved before they might be accepted into the categories, and giving feedback and advice on the new (up and coming) poetry boards. Four Degreez also planned to make these positions, the first paid positions (to pay around $20 4K money each week). After about a year, two editors were selected: Aether and frayed.

The poetry section on 4K was created and in order to join, you would have to sign up for an account. Each type of account requires a weekly fee and it gives you...
...Access to two more boards (to do with poetry)
...Ability to host your poems on-site.

There is more capabilities of design to your page on 4K too. On Four Degreez's poetry page, he displays some of the capabilities you are able to do. Davijai's page provides a good example of different ways you can design a page.

As of June 7, there were 60 names of on the Poetry section. Several have no poems listed but overall there are 366 poems listed (again, as of June 7, 2008) which gives an average of 6 poems per member!! Here is a list of the members who have posted the most poems:

FRAYED: The poetry section is unique in that it has a board for serious critiques, where members can receive helpful feedback about their poetry, not just from Aether and myself, but from other poetry section memebrs as well. Then each member has their own private peotry page where they can showcase their poems for the rest of the community to read. From those poems, Aether and I choose those poems that we feel truly stand out, poems that seem really special and creative. Those poems are posted for showcasing on a completely different poetry site created by our webmaster, Four Degreez.

BLOT: Do you guys have anything in the works or ideas you'd like to put into action for the group?

FRAYED: I think we're currently at a loss right now. We've made several attempts in the past to ressurect the poetry section, but for some reason people seem to have just stopped visiting those boards altogether. I would really love it if the community members who have poetry accounts would like to give us some suggestions. It would be a wonderful thing to see this section become popular again as it was in the past. Especially when you consider all the hard work that Four put into creating it for us.
