Birdwatching

The robin is perhaps the most favourite of all British birds. With its mighty red breast, it's easy to spot despite being quite small.

However, do not let their delightful appearance fool you, for the robin is a vicious psychopath of a bird, who will gleefully peck out the eyes of its territorial rival, given the chance.

There is no sexual difference in colouring, although juvenile birds lack the famous red breast.

They reside in the United Kingdom throughout the year, in a variety of habitats (including gardens and parks) and number in the millions.

As regards photography, they are amongst the more difficult birds to snap due to their small size, coupled with a proclivity to never standing in one place for very long. Happily, their large numbers and year-round presence help to make up for this.
