Ink Blot
Birdwatching avec Monsieur le Temujin

hey kids,

this time I'm looking at the blackbird. Although the male's body lives up to the name, its beak is bright orange, and the female is a dullish brown.

They can often be found on the ground, where they use their powerful beaks to get at worms.

They're prevalent all over the UK, throughout the year, and as well as worms enjoy a diet of insects and berries (as proven by the pics).

Incidentally, those who are friends with me on facebook may get earlier (lower-res) previews of the pics I use for this series. On this occasion, I think it's fair to say the lower sized photographs don't measure up to the full sized ones.
