I realized not too long ago that I didn't have a name for the hometown of Steve, Richie, Rochelle, Sharon, Jocasta, Peter, the AALL card thieves and the other characters in Inner Bruise. When I needed to refer to it I would just write "[place name here]".

So I talked with Achae, asking her for ideas. The said she pictured Inner Bruise as being set in California. Living in California all my life, I am attuned to the ubiquity of Spanish place names here -- San Francisco, Moraga, San Diego, Los Angeles, Los Gatos, Rancho Cucamonga, Fresno, Santa Ana, La Crecenta. So I decided Inner Bruise should be set in a town with a Spanish place name.

Here are ten ideas for names of the town.

The way we're going to choose is to hold an election. Send your favorite name in to Achae's PM box. The name that gets the most votes by 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on February 24 will be the winner. You have a whole month to decide, but don't put it oee for so long that you forget to vote!

To avoid ties, we would like to get as many votes as possible.
