The tallmanian Movie Challenge: Round 4 Answers
by tallman
The winner of round 4 is... a TIE: naturallmyistic and Samael, with a whopping 9 correct answers each. Great job, and thanks for all who participated. DVDs will be sent on Monday:)
A reasonable amount of entries this month, but not a lot of repeat players - play every month to win the cumulative prize (Which will be some sort of DVD set awarded after maybe the 6th month...) Right now, Samael and Sovawanea are doing pretty well on the cumulative front... So here are the answers to round 4:

Most of you got this, so good on you, but for those who haven't, clear 3 hours off your schedule and watch this movie! It's possibly my favorite movie of all time and it is brilliant! Also of note: the trend of people picking sequels when I'm posting the original continues, though at least The Godfather part II is a great movie.
Screenshot 2: The Iron Giant
A mediocre showing for this one, which I guess is an under-appreciated animated film from director Brad Bird. He's perhaps better known for his work on the Simpsons (back when it was funny), The Incredibles, and Ratatouille, but I have a soft spot for Iron Giant as well...

This was a tough one and I wasn't expecting anyone to get it, but a couple people did. Nice work. The movie is interesting in that it was meant to be very satirical... but it seems very tame and maybe even prescient today. At the time, writer Paddy Chayefsky tried to imagine the most ridiculous and absurd things that could happen on TV news... Frighteningly, it doesn't seem as ridiculous or absurd these days. Anyway, got some funny answers here, including "Lawyers: the Musical!" and "The Matrix 4: Revolibrary." Points were awarded:p
Screenshot 4: Doomsday
Another tough one because the movie is somewhat obscure and the screenshot is too, but a few people still got it. The movie itself is worth a watch if you like post-apocalyptic stuff like The Road Warrior (which is much better than this movie, but still). Incidentally, no, this is not Nixon (one of these days, I'm going to feature a screenshot from Nixon, and I bet Aether will answer something else).
Screenshot 5: Friday
I was a little surprised this one wasn't answered correctly more often, but whatever. Did you know this was one of Quentin Tarantino's favorite movies made since 1992? I didn't.
Screenshot 6: Fletch
I think I'm starting to show my age with some of these picks, but a few of you got this too. It's a hysterical movie though, and well worth a watch.
Screenshot 7: 2001: A Space Odyssey
The movie is old and somewhat impenetrable, but a bunch of you got it anyway. It's one of my favorites, though I agree you have to be in the right mood to watch it. Best incorrect answer: "Sailor Moon, Indie Abstract Edition" Hehe.
Screenshot 8: Dirty Harry
Most of you got this, and I did choose the most iconic shot from the movie, but once again someone chose a sequel... and the worst sequel too. Gah. Anyway, great movie.
Screenshot 9: Serenity
While I enjoy this movie a lot, it doesn't hold a candle to the series on which it was based (Firefly). It's all worth watching, if you get a chance. Of course, there was only one season and a lot of threads were left open, but it's still a ton of fun. Some great incorrect answers for this one, including "Dude, Where's My Car?" and "Aliens from Mt. Trashmore INVADE!" (a movie I would love to watch).
Screenshot 10: Braveheart
Most of you got this one, and it was a pretty easy screenshot. Nice work.
That wraps up this round. Good luck on the next one!
